Termbase integrity check
Instantly know if a Termbase is legitimate
TL;DR Your Termbases could be infected with malicious macros and/or malicious code.
Tb-Scout v3.3 before opening any Trados Termbase will perform an authentication process to ensure that the file is clean and authentic.
First of all, this feature allows the user to immediately know if a given Termbase is a clean file, that is, if it does not include malicious code which can execute unintended actions, including harmful ones.
Next, it will verify if the Termbase is complete, that is, if it has all its required components and whether the file is in fact a Termbase and not something else.
It is important to note that each Trados Termbase consists exclusively of data, raw data. There are no scripts, macros or programming modules included. Any Termbase containing objects other than raw data is considered a corrupted Termbase.
Bear in mind the fact that a Termbase has 'no moving parts', so to speak. All the functionality of a Termbase comes to life through a front-end application such as Trados MultiTerm Desktop, Trados Studio or, yes, Tb-Scout v3.3.
Needless to say, all files that do not pass this authentication test will be rejected.
